About Me

Thank you for stopping by my blog, where I share product reviews and giveaways, health and fitness tips, recipes, blogging tips, financial advice, and generally ramble on about life in general.

I am 28 years old and my husband and I will be celebrating our two year anniversary next February!  I work full time as a registered nurse in an intensive care nursery.  It is an incredibly stressful but rewarding job and I love working with premature babies and critically ill infants.  My husband and I have embarked on the journey of trying to start a family, but for now, I get to spoil my niece and 3 nephews.

A little about us: We are proud Gators and owners of a crazy yellow lab. During the fall, you can usually find us tailgating or at the game when we’re lucky enough to get tickets. I like reading books on my new Kindle and am a bit of a foodie when the budget allows. My husband is into brewing his own beer and at this rate we will be running a bar out of our garage soon :) Our common love is travelling. In our first year of married life, we made it to Jamaica, Hawaii, the Bahamas, and took some fun trips throughout the south despite our busy work schedules.

This blog is something I do on the side as a hobby, but  I treat it like a business and it finally gives me a way to put my old marketing degree and sales experience to use. It took me a while to figure out a career that was both challenging and fulfilling, so I’ve worked a variety of retail/sales jobs and eventually left the corporate banking world for a more fulfilling job in nursing.

Like most families, we are trying to stay healthy, save money, and have a little fun along the way!  I enjoy trying new products that enhance or improve our lives and then sharing about it on here.

Wow that is a great career to have a full time job as a registered nurse in an intensive care nursery. How rewarding that is and how lucky you are, but I am sure you really must be busy. That is super that you took some fabulous trips also, get them all in before you start a family!

Thank you so much for all of the giveaways that you post. I know that it has to be
enjoyable (or else you wouldn’t do it) but, a lot of work. The Florida “Gators” might
be good, but the Arkansas “Razorbacks” are better (J/K, I know they really aren’t.)
So, Go Pig Sooeeee, RAZORBACKS!!!!

Haha, we will have to agree to disagree on football :) I’m glad you enjoy the giveaways. It definitely is very time consuming with a lot of behind the scenes work, but I do enjoy it.

Thanks for taking the time to say thank you, that’s so thoughtful! While I love running my blog, it does take a lot of work in addition to my job and other responsibilities, so it’s definitely nice to be thanked!

I only read this for the extra entry but I found it interesting. My future DIL is training to be a RN. My son (#2 son) and her are going to Hawaii or one of the islands on their honeymoon. I is very interesting hear about what people do. I only raised children so I live vicariously through others lol

It’s great getting to know you. :)
Would you be able to tell me how you made your blog button. I know the HTML code for Blogger, and how to add it to the blog. The problem is when I use the directlink (photobucket) my picture is very big, not a small thumbnail. I tried resizing it several times (120×120), but the image is too big. Could you tell me what you used for your button?

Hi Jaimie, my button was designed for me as part of my blog theme. Are you resizing it in Photobucket or with the html code? Either way should work, although ideally you want the actual size of the image file to be correct so it will load faster.

Thanks Sherry. It’s often challenging and sad, but at the end of the day I love how I can make a difference and see such progress in the babies’ health and development, for the most past.
