I think I look tired in this picture, but you can see my belly is getting nice and round! This week has been very busy but productive. I chose a pediatrician, and had another uneventful OB appointment. Baby is measuring 32 weeks, but I know that’s just an estimate anyway.
Even though I’m exhausted most of the time, I’m also motivated to get this house in order! I’m trying to knock out a few small projects each week. I feel so pleased that my husband finally put up an IKEA shelf in the bathroom that we probably bought about 2 years ago, haha. I cleaned out my closet and traded it the unwanted stuff at a consignment store, and my husband also put up curtains in the nursery. Two months seems like a long way off, but each week goes by so quickly.
This week, baby is the size of a: Cucumber, about 3 pounds
Next appointment: Prenatal massage at the chiropractor’s office (hallelujah!)
Total weight gain/loss: +22 pounds. Weight gain seems to have slowed down this past month, but baby is still measuring about a week ahead.
Exercise: I actually took the dogs for a walk today My husband was concerned about me being on my feet even more because of the swelling, but my OB said walking is okay.
Maternity clothes: I’m in love with the GAP leggings I’m wearing in my picture above! I might buy another pair in a different color if I can catch a sale. I also bought a new tunic-style top at a consignment store.
Sleep: Sleep has been better lately, but I’m still exhausted all the time.
Food cravings/aversions: I’m having a harder time with food since so many things I like to eat makes me uncomfortable now.
Symptoms: Heartburn is killing me. I am almost considering starting Zantac, although I hate to take meds when pregnant. It was so bad I threw up my dinner the other day.
Movement: He is definitely a night owl, and he likes to push back if we put our hands on my belly. Sometimes he seems to get tangled up in my ribs which is very uncomfortable.
What I miss: Being able to eat and drink without suffering heartburn and headaches afterward.
What I’m loving: I received a Hygeia Enjoye double electric breast pump to review this week, and I will be giving one away on my blog in a few weeks! What a blessing!
What I’m looking forward to: Still need to use up our Target gift cards, and I’m happy about my massage tomorrow. Leg cramps in the middle of the night are making my calf muscles sore.
Best moment this week: The only thing our nursery is missing is curtains, and I found the perfect set at a consignment store at a great deal! They’re aqua and match our color scheme, and one sheer panel has round dots which makes it look like bubbles, perfect for an under the sea nursery. The curtains are by Pottery Barn Kids, have 3 layers of curtain panels, and came with the rods for only $40. I also found 2 wool diaper covers in good condition for $7.50 each, which sell new for $40+.
Milestones: Nothing new this week, just trucking along
Goals: Instead of goals, I’m going to start keeping a to-do list:
make appointments to interview pediatricians done, and I found one I really like
- prep cloth diapers (need to buy a specific detergent for this)
- listen to my positive pregnancy affirmations
baby shower thank you notes done, but I still need to address and mail them
- maternity photos (waiting for weather to cool off)
- return duplicate items received at baby showers
- wash baby clothes (need to buy fragrance-free detergent for this too)
