Review: Scandle 2 in 1 Soy Candle that Melts into Aromatherapy Massage Oil!

I love products that multi-task, and the Scandle Body Massage Candle is an innovative 2 in 1 product that is perfect for having a spay day at home! Scandles are soy candles that melt 2 degrees above body temperature. Once the wax melts, it becomes a pourable oil for massages and manicures/pedicures, or may be used as a moisturizer. You get the aromatherapy and ambiance of burning a candle, along with an easy to apply massage oil!

The Scandle Originals are made from 100% natural ingredients and are petroleum free. It’s available in 10oz, 4oz, and 10oz refills and comes in a variety of fragrances. Check out the YouTube video to learn more about soy and see how the Scandle works:

I received the Original Travel Scandle in Japanese Cherry Blossom ($15.95) and told my husband he needed to give me a back massage so I could test the product (being a review blogger is tough work, but someone’s gotta do it!). The instructions say to burn the candle for about 30 minutes, but I found the wax melted fairly quickly and we got enough for a back massage after burning it for just a few minutes. You would think that the wax would be hotter, but it wasn’t uncomfortable at all to pour directly onto skin and it was quite relaxing. This is because soy burns slower and cooler than paraffin wax.

While it doesn’t feel exactly the same as traditional massage oil (unsurprisingly, it’s a little waxier and less slick), it worked fine and I liked the uniqueness of this product. The travel tin is perfect for taking on trips, and I’ll probably bring along my Scandle on our next trip to Jamaica. To be fair and get a second opinion, I also gave my husband a back massage using the Scandle oil and he had no complaints.

I would definitely purchase again, and would love to try some of their other scents such as green tea aloe and sage and citrus. My husband and I both have stressful full-time jobs, and the Scandle Candle was the perfect product to bring us together for some much-needed relaxation. The burn time is supposed to be 15-30 hours, so you should be able to get quite a few massages out of one candle.

I’ve seen these everywhere and just need to purchase one already! Love the idea of a candle & massage oil in one.

Sounds like a great idea. I’ve not heard of one that was a candle and massage oil in one. The name sounds like it would smell wonderful.
