My Pix 2 Canvas Review: Transform Your Photos Into Canvas Art

by Rachel on May 11, 2012

in Household Reviews

When we moved into our new house earlier this year, I knew I wanted to add some of our personal touches to the home decor to make it warm and inviting. I especially wanted to transform some of our vacation photos into larger pieces that we could hang on the walls.

I turned to My Pix 2 Canvas for my custom canvas prints, and they agreed to let me review their services for free. The process was easy: I uploaded my photograph to their website, placed my order, and they sent me a carefully wrapped print in a matter of days!

The founder of My Pix 2 Canvas shares his vision in this YouTube video:

They have a variety of sizes (from 8×10 up to 40×60) and 4 different edge wrapping options. I decided to transform one of my favorite sunset photos from our last trip to Jamaica into a 1.5″ deep 16×20 canvas print ($86). It’s now hanging in our bedroom and is a wonderful daily reminder of our amazing vacation.

Giveaway & Review: Transform Your Photos Into Canvas Art With My Pix 2 Canvas

I’m pleased with the quality of the print and the ease of ordering on their website. The giclee printing method gives it the feel of artwork that is hanging in a gallery and turns an ordinary photo into a piece of art. The canvas is also sealed with a special ultraviolet coating that provides additional protection from sunlight induced fading.

A custom print from My Pix 2 Canvas would make the perfect thoughtful Mother’s Day gift, or maybe you can finally frame some of your wedding photos! Right now you can get a $50 certificate for the price of $29. The possibilities are endless. We would like to enlarge some more of our photos from Hawaii to hang in our living room, and wouldn’t hesitate to order from My Pix 2 Canvas again.

I absolutely love using my personal photos as artwork in our home instead of actual artwork. I’d use the latest family picture from Christmas for our photo.

It’s a toss up between a picture of a lion I took at the Wild Animal Park in San Diego or a Yosemite waterfall picture.

I’ve got an amazing photo of my son from when he was about 9 months old with the silliest grin on his face, head cocked to the side while crawling on a blanket… it’s simply the best photo in the world… I’d only worry about the resolution not being high enough to be blown up so large.
