I love this time of year…the days are longer, everything is green and blooming, and the weather is getting warm. It definitely feels like a time of rebirth as we approach the spring religious holidays. I’m curious to know how your family celebrates Easter or Passover – do you have any special traditions, or do you attend special services such as a sunrise service?
My husband and his family are Catholic, so we typically attend a morning Mass and then hang out at his parents house for an Easter dinner. Even though we are almost 30, my husband and I still usually get a few chocolate treats
For some cute Easter crafts and recipes, check out my Spring inspired board on Pinterest.
I plan to make the Peeps cupcakes as my contribution to Easter dinner. There are so many other projects I wanted to make, but I had to restrain my inner Martha Stewart since I’m on a budget. My plan is to hit the stores once everything is marked down, and then I’ll be all set to decorate the house for spring next year.
I would love to hear about creative egg hunts, special recipes you make, etc

Hi Rachel! Wonderful entry and I pinned, love the items for Easter that you have there. I have fibromyalgia which kicks in when I do too much physical activity and with the weather changes and our weather here in S. Calif. has been crazy… hot one day, cold the next. So this morning for our Good Friday service I am “attending” on the computer to a service that online. Yesterday wore me out going around from store to store to get the items I needed to decoupage eggs (2 different projects) … one project will be on my blog later today and then the next project (non Easter egg decoupage eggs) will be on my blog next week. I’m also boiling eggs tomorrow and making deviled eggs for Easter dinner (Avocado Deviled Eggs) and then the other eggs that I will dye with Kool Aid will be done tomorrow and am deviling them and not breaking the shell and making PEEPS!
) Easter Sunday I hope to attend my church with my husband (we’re 50+ so our kids are grown and live in another state and don’t have kids) and then coming home to a wonderful dinner! Today my husband is celebrating Easter with his mom who is in the nursing home in town on Hospice. I just chatted with her on his cell phone and we sent a basket into her with jelly beans and choc. eggs. Happy Easter to you!

We usually attend the sunrise service then go home for a ham dinner and Easter egg hunt. I’ve also found a lot of great Easter ideas on Pinterest. Thanks for sharing the link to your board!

My age-old tradition is to go to my dad’s house for dinner and hide eggs for the little ones. Now, the little ones are big ones and they will be hiding eggs for MY little one. Last year, Hubby, the boy and I had dinner at home together because my family celebrated Easter early…so it’s still a little up in the air!!

Rachel, you’re never too old for treats LOL~
we are in S CA now and I don’t think we’re doing much, up in N. CA we would go spend it with my mom and have a nice dinner.
This year our little guy is almost 3 so I have a basket with a few toys ( no candy)
and some eggs ready to go and hide in our back yard!

I celebrate Passover and we are pretty strict in our observance (but obviously not extremely strict since I am on the computer LOL). We go to seders the first and second nights, and we only eat kosher for passover foods during the 8 days.

I enjoy a sunrise service
The whole week leading up to Easter is usually filled with Easter egg hunts, visit to the Mall to see the Easter Bunny & ride the train. We are Catholic too. On Easter morn after our son rips through his basket, we have breakfast, get dressed & head to Easter Mass. After Mass we head to my in-laws for dinner & stop at my parents on the way home. By the time we get home, we are ready to crash!
Thanks for sharing the link to your board. I am already starting to plan for next year. I bought some great stuff on clearance and I can’t wait to start working on my new decorations for next year
I got some great deals since CVS is marked down to 75% last time I was there – I got a wreath that was originally 12.99, 2 jumbo packs of easter eggs (to make the wreath craft which I have pinned on my spring board), and some chocolate all for $5
