Training for a 10k Race

If you didn’t get a chance to read about my 5k race recap last week, check it out! I had to work an extra day this week, but I’m trying to stick to an every other day running routine since my 10k is next week. I’m hoping to do another long run tomorrow since I’ve only run 6 miles once, and I have to do 6.2 next Saturday! My first 2 runs this week may not have been the best, but I’m glad I forced myself to do them.

Since the 10k is on St. Patty’s Day and there’s an after party to raise money for our local Hospice organization, I stopped by Target today to see what kind of holiday themed outfit I could throw together that combined running functionality with holiday silliness. I’m not sure if I’ll wear it on race day, but I picked up a running skirt since I’ve been wanting to try one for a while.

Runners, do you ever wear running skirts? What’s your favorite brand?

You will have to tell us how the running skirt turns out. I am very intrigued!

I wore the running skirt on my 6.2 mile long run today and liked it a lot. I think it’s cute and different than my usual shorts :)

You should wear some green for sure ;) I love the running skirts. But I bought one and I’m still a bit chubby for it. So I have it saved. You can do it!

No running skirts here but I am excited to see how you liked it. I am still doing a lot of capris at this point.

Glad to hear you liked the running skirt. I haven’t tried one
but I do want to start running and it’s good to know that I
can just pop into Target and pick one up. :-)
