Giveaway & Review: Guylian Belgian Chocolate Truffles

When I think of St. Valentine’s Day, I immediately think of a box of chocolates, so I was very excited to review Guylian Artisanal Belgian chocolates! If you’re looking for a traditional Valentine’s Day gift for your sweetheart, here’s a chocolate company to consider. One lucky winner will get to try these decadent truffles too!

I love the story behind this brand:

The Guylian brand dates back to the late 1950’s when Guy Foubert, a passionate Belgian Chocolataire married his love, Liliane who then joined names and created the Chocolaterie Guylian. Today, Guylian crafts the finest authentic Belgian Chocolate Truffles, utilizing Guy & Liliane’s original handmade recipe. The original signature truffle recipe is still made in small-batch copper kettles exclusively by Guylian’s Master Chocolatiers in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium.

A sweet love story for a sweet product! I received the Artisanal Belgian Chocolate Seashells, made from 100% pure cocoa butter using dark and white Belgian Chocolate and filled with a creamy chocolate praline truffle. Visually, these are quite interesting and unique, unlike any other chocolates I’ve had before. The dark and white chocolate are marbled and molded into exquisite seashell and seahorse shapes. When you open the box of truffles, it truly delights your senses as you can smell the rich chocolate and enjoy the aesthetic design.

Hazelnut lovers should check out the I Love You Heart shaped milk chocolates. These heart-shaped chocolates are filled with hazelnut praline and wrapped in gold foil. The first thing I notice when I bite into one of these is the creamy filling, with the rich hazelnut taste following close behind.

If you know a diabetic with a sweet tooth, not to worry – get them the No Sugar Added Chocolate Bars. These are sweetened with maltinol, a sugar alternative derived from natural sources. If they hadn’t said No Sugar Added on the label, I would not have noticed a difference. They were still quite rich and delicious.

The only room for improvement I can suggest is that I would love to see them offer a variety box of truffles. There’s something exciting about biting into a piece of chocolate and not knowing what flavor will unfold.
