Tropical Traditions Giveaway/Review: Antioxidant Omega 3 Greens Dietary Supplement

To kick off 2012 and help with my goal of eating healthier, I decided to review the Antioxidant Omega 3 Greens Dietary Supplement from Tropical Traditions. This is a powder supplement which you can mix with water, juice, or other drinks to boost your intake of antioxidants and and omega 3s.  Here are some key benefits:

Supports nutrition, digestion, circulation & immunity.
Contains 2600mg Organic Flax & Organic Flax Lignans per serving, rich in ALA Omega 3
Provides dark green plants, herbs, spices, natural food concentrates, and nutritious fruits and vegetables to help meet your daily requirements.
Supplies a rich blend of totally natural vitamins, minerals, plant enzymes, antioxidants, phytonutrients and symbiotic intestinal flora for optimal energy metabolism, digestion, detoxification, and immune enhancement.

Ingredients include Certified Organic Flaxseed Blend, Concentrate Ionic Trace Minerals, Spirulina & Chlorella (fresh water algae), and probiotics.

This drink provides many health benefits, but unfortunately I just couldn’t get over the taste. It comes in Mint and Berry and promises not to taste like “your typical thick greens drink”. I selected Berry and while it does have a sweet berry element to it, when I mixed it with water as instructed, it was really thick. The only way I can think of to describe the overall smell and taste is if you have ever been around pet rabbits or hamsters and smelled their pellet food. Here’s what it looks like when mixed with water:

I tried blending just half a scoop with a vanilla soymilk and frozen berry smoothie to mask the taste, but I could still detect it. This is just my personal opinion though and we all know taste is subjective, so you may have a different opinion or may feel the health benefits outweigh the taste issue.

On a practical note, I feel like the scoop handle is way too long. It would be easier for the consumer if it had a shorter handle, since it was buried about halfway down in the container and was stuck. I had to scoop some of the powder out into a different container to unearth the scoop, which was a messy endeavor.

I’ve done a number of other Tropical Traditions reviews and enjoyed their products, however this is not one that I personally will continue to use.

I go crazy over the anti-oxidant thing, I don’t know but I am totally afraid of getting age. I never go crazy with anything else before just now. I am not just that pathetic but also an obsessed one. It even leads me to searching all over the neat and even at markets just to have an anti-oxidant cream and supplement. Whenever I find things that has to do with the aging thing my hearts doesn’t stop from ponding not until I get hold of the product.

I tried to enter the mandatory entry, but the website won’t work for me. I keep getting a fatal error.

Allum is good anti-body odor. It has this properties as like the charcoal, it takes out odor. If one uses it on armpits it really worked. But it is quite outdated, there are products that best get the job done.
