training for my next 5k race
Well, everything got thrown off track this week. We stayed at my in-laws again for New Year’s Eve weekend and I barely had time to exercise. I did a 2 mile treadmill run, a 5k outdoor run, and an elliptical workout and that was it. It seemed like I was either at my in-laws, at work, or spending our free time packing, moving, and unpacking.

My race is in 9 days too so I need to step it up this week.

How are you all doing with your goals/resolutions after this first week?

My walking goal is to walk 150 miles per month to reach my goal of 1800 for the year.
I have walked 54 miles already, so I am ahead of schedule. It feels great !!

Wow, that is a lot! Do you wear a pedometer and count all the walking you do all day, or do you go on long hikes? Fifty-four miles in 1 week is quite impressive :)

Yes, I always wear a pedometer. I have a new MyTrak that is just awesome. It keeps my history and tells me a lot of different information. It gives me a read out every night of the steps and miles that I have logged that day.
I live and work in a condo with 7 floors, so I go up and down stairs all day, which gets me nearly 6 miles just for that. After work I usually head out to walk a few miles.
I joined Dailymile.com and it is an awesome place to meet other people and motivate each other.

I’m supposed to tell you some of my financial goals for 2012. I have one idea that I would like to set into motion to start paying our debt off overtime and student loans, now this plan is just so I will actually start paying consistently each month some of my debt.

Wow you walk/run a lot! I couldn’t do that.. but I do love to walk. I love being outside and I love the way it makes me feel, walking in the mornings gives me a lot more energy for the day… You must be in great shape! Good for you!

I really enjoy running outdoors too. I find it helps clear my mind and puts me in a better mood to be out in the fresh air and sunshine :)
